Abstract. Free movement of goods and digitalization in the EU and in Mercosur The purpose of this article is to examine the freedom of circulation of goods in two customs unions (the European Union and the Mercosur – Southern Common Market), on the basis of an analysis of the treaties and of the customs codes. Furthermore, another objective of the article is to consider how the issue of digitalization has been conceived in the treaties and in the EU and Mercosur legislation, taking into consideration the free movement of goods principle.
