Some brief remarks on the impact of digitalisation in the transport sector and in logistics in ports.
This article analyses the environmental benefits of the recent EU legislative provisions on innovation, digitalisation and adaptation of ports and ships which include an obligation to use on-shore power supply (OPS) or zero-emission technology in ports under the jurisdiction of a Member State. Furthermore, the use of the blockchain technology as an environmentally friendly system in port operations and logistics and as the most effective way to replicate the paper bill of lading, is considered and analysed together with its legal framework.
Il contributo analizza i vantaggi dalla più recente normativa europea sulla digitalizzazione e adeguamento dei porti e delle navi che stabilisce norme uniformi sull’obbligo dell’alimentazione elettrica da terra (on-shore power supply – OPS) o una tecnologia a zero emissioni nei porti di uno Stato membro. Inoltre, esamina l’impiego della tecnologia blockchain sul funzionamento delle operazioni logistiche nei porti e come mezzo più efficace per sostituire la polizza di carico cartacea indagando anche sul contesto normativo.
